Network Operators are faced with a wide range of challenges in today’s fiercely competitive value-added and revenue-generating enhanced services market. Two key challenges include continuing to effectively take advantage of existing investments in TDM/SS7 and Wireless Intelligent Networks, and the other to quickly and efficiently roll out new enhanced services, both with the assurance that the migration to the next generation IP network infrastructure can be simultaneously supported by the same platform. The APEX Service Delivery Platform (SDP) addresses these challenges with the following solutions, regardless of the network infrastructure (TDM/SS7 WIN/CAMEL, 3G, IMS, converged):
• Network IVR (Interactive Voice Response) – as the carrier-grade version of IVR, Network Operators rely on Network IVR for smooth integration of various signaling protocols (SS7/ISUP, WIN/CAMEL, SIP, ISDN), functionality between TDM and IP networks, support for open standards (i.e. VXML), high scalability, and the ability to support multiple applications on a single platform.
• IVR Consolidation – in addition to delivering innovative enhanced services, Network Operators also need to support volume growth without adding to legacy infrastructures; replace end-of-life systems; migrate from TDM to IP, with a period of interoperation in between; and provide ARPU-increasing applications without increasing staff. The ideal solution to all these challenges is a less-costly infrastructure, which is exactly what IVR Consolidation offers.
• Video IVR / IVVR – as more 3G networks are installed worldwide, Video IVR / IVVR will continue to grow in demand. These interactive video applications are delivered to the end-user over a standard 3G video call, using existing 3G standards, which means that video IVR applications work the same on all handsets. Because Video IVR uses standard video calls as the delivery medium, end-users do not need to download or install anything on their handsets to access these services.
• SIP Application Server - developed for Network Operators, OmniVox3D is a carrier-grade SIP Application Server. From its integrated, browser-based OmniView service creation and OAM&P environment, to its modular design, distributed architecture and support for open standards, OmniVox3D addresses all of the needs of Network Operators as they apply to the deployment cycle of designing, developing, delivering and managing voice and video enhanced services.
• Service Ready Solutions – Unified Messaging, Prepaid Calling, Conferencing, Color Ringback, and Web Mashups (click-to-call, Community Call, etc.) are some of the most successful services offered by VASPs around the world. Whether they are offered as value-added or revenue-generating enhanced services, these and other similar Service Ready Solutions from APEX can be quickly deployed in any network around the world.
