A multi-media content delivery platform for the APEX Video Conferencing System, the APEX Composition Engine integrates content from the internet with various types of media, and then enables the combined content to be streamed live into a Video Conference, for a new and unique, shared multi-media experience.

Multi-Media Streams
The APEX Composition Engine offers an environment with tools to process and deliver multi-media streams to the APEX Server Delivery Platform (APEX SDP™) through its OmniVox3D® Application Server. For an enhanced Video Conferencing experience, the multi-media stream types supported by the APEX Composition Engine include:

• Microsoft Windows Screen Share – PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
• Recorded Multi-Media Files – Videos, Music, Photos, etc.
• Live TV Feeds – Sports, Concerts, News, Reality Shows, etc.

Web 2.0 Streams
The APEX Composition Engine also provides high level integration tools to internet applications that allow for the creation of complex mash-ups by combining multiple web services to deliver complex applications such as:

Dynamic Video Generation
A unique feature of the APEX Composition Engine is the capability to dynamically generate video content by combining HTML and PHP templates with data sourced from IT or Web infrastructure through standard data base interfaces including ODBC and Web Services. Dynamic Video Generation extends the power of the APEX Composition Engine to render real time data screens for complex applications like weather, banking and financial information.

The APEX Composition Engine is a component of the APEX Service Delivery Platform that enables the delivery of the internet’s rich, web 2.0 experiences through the telecom and IPTV network.
