DirecTV Deploys APEX Voice Communications'
OmniVox® in its Puerto Rico Operation

Leading Digital Satellite Television Provider Selects
APEX after Back-to-Back Successful Installations
at DirecTV Argentina and DirecTV Mexico

SHERMAN OAKS, CA, APRIL 24, 2002 – APEX Voice Communications, a leading supplier of enhanced services and billing solutions to network service providers and enterprises worldwide, today announced that its OmniVox Intelligent Call/Media Processor was recently installed at DirecTV in Puerto Rico. With OmniVox, DirecTV will be providing a variety of automated voice response services that will enhance the subscriber's interaction with the leading digital satellite television service provider. The project was made successful and installed ahead of schedule by the joint effort of two members of the APEX Reseller Program. OmniVox is a multi-service platform for TDM and IP networks with a fully-integrated graphical service creation environment (OmniView®).

Following the successful implementation of APEX-based projects for DirecTV Argentina and Mexico, DirecTV Puerto Rico selected APEX and installed OmniVox to increase two key areas of its business - customer satisfaction and revenue. To enhance customer satisfaction, DirecTV will use OmniVox to provide automated pay-per-view services, simplifying the order processing for subscribers. Additionally, OmniVox will be used to provide automated customer support services, giving subscribers immediate answers to a range of support questions, while lowering DirecTV's support costs. To increase revenue, DirecTV will use OmniVox for automated outbound telemarketing campaigns to increase its subscriber base and to sell existing subscribers added services.

The implementation and installation if this project was a coordinated effort between two members of the APEX Reseller Program - Interconnect (Buenos Aires, Argentina) who developed the application and the interface to the DirecTV database, and Netcom (Florida, USA), who installed the solution. Both members worked together to implement the project in record time by recycling applications and interfaces previously developed for DirecTV Argentina. This is a great example of the benefits that the APEX Reseller Program provides, where members work together to offer an APEX global customer a cost-effective and flexible solution in minimum time.
