APEX Voice Communications Announces Special OmniVox® Upgrade Offer From Windows NT to Windows XP
Offer Gives NT Users Opportunity to Place Orders Before General Availability Date
SHERMAN OAKS, CA, September 13, 2004 - APEX Voice Communications, a leading supplier of enhanced services and real-time billing solutions to carriers, telecom service providers and enterprises worldwide, today announced that current users of its OmniVox Intelligent Call/Media Processor running on Windows NT will have the opportunity to order upgrades to the Windows XP version (5.0) before the general availability date of September 30, 2004.

Some of the new features that OmniVox for Windows XP gives current users under Windows NT include support for business conferencing, call recording, LDAP, SS7 and multiple speech recognition vendors. Additionally, a number of key enhancements have been made to the OmniView® Service Creation Environment, the award-winning graphical design, development, deployment and maintenance module.
As an enhanced services platform, OmniVox can be the basis for revenue-generating services such as intelligent 800-number routing, voice/fax messaging, voice-activated dialing, mass calling, high-density IVR and prepaid calling (with APEX prepaid System) increasing average revenue per user (ARPU). Being installed in over 90 countries at over 10,000 installations, OmniVox supports a wide variety of telephony protocols (i.e. T1, E1, VoIP) and signaling protocols (i.e. SS7, ISDN, H.323, SIP).
In 2001, Microsoft announced that the end-of-life for Windows NT Workstation would be June 30, 2004 and for Windows NT Sever would be December 31, 2004. Additionally, there is no more support available from Microsoft for Windows NT Workstation, with security hot fixes only available through December 31, 2004 for Windows NT Server.
