APEX VOICE COMMUNICATIONS ANNOUNCES SIP PROXY AND PRESENCE SERVER FOR THE OMNIVOX3D® APPLICATION SERVER- SIP Proxy Server Includes SIMPLE Presence Engine for Real-Time
Services - WOODLAND HILLS, CA, December 5, 2007 - APEX Voice Communications, a
worldwide supplier of carrier-grade, multi-service SIP Application
Servers for voice and video enhanced services, today announced the
availability of a SIP Proxy and Presence Server (PPS) for its
OmniVox3D Application Server. By using SIMPLE technology and
providing a core set of routing, presence, media proxy and resource
management functions, the OmniVox3D SIP PPS can be applied to a wide
range of real-time VoIP-based services. Consisting of a SIP proxy server, registrar, XCAP functions and the
IETF-compliant SIMPLE (SIP Instant Messaging and Presence Leverage
Extension) presence engine, the OmniVox3D SIP Proxy and Presence
Server can be deployed as a critical server component of any presence-
aware SIP based communication and collaboration service, including
instant messaging/voice/video/conferencing, IP-PBX, Web collaboration,
and video conferencing. While the OmniVox3D SIP Proxy Server provides accurate routing of
general SIP messages and presence information, the Presence Server
engine collects and updates user presence information (online/offline,
busy and away), as well as user capability (Audio, Video, IM,
Collaboration) from various devices (PC, mobile phone, PDA, etc.). In
addition to core SIP and SIMPLE support, the OmniVox3D SIP PPS
implements XCAP functions for server side resource management such as
buddy lists. The OmniVox3D SIP Proxy Server also has media proxy capabilities. SIP
network operators can use the Proxy Server on the edge of the network
in order to solve NAT traversal problems as well as to assure that
both signaling and media streams between two remote peers are properly
relayed through the operator's network. "In today's highly mobile environment, presence-based services are
critical to the continued success of our service provider customers,"
said Elhum Vahdat, executive vice president of APEX Voice
Communications. "Which is why we have integrated a presence engine
with our SIP Proxy Server." Some of the features of the OmniVox3D SIP Presence Server include,
support of SUBSCRIBE and NOTIFY methods, centralized server mode (i.e.
central and permanent repository of presence information), Web
administration tools, white and black access lists management, UDP or
TCP transport modes, and security via DIGEST authentication, TLS
authentication and encryption. OmniVox3D SIP PPS' flexible design makes it deployable in a
standalone, distributed or clustered configuration. Its scalability
allows organizations to start with low capital expenditure and scale
with growth, while delivering value-added services. Omnivox3D SIP PPS
can be licensed separately or as part of the OmniVox3D SIP Application
Server. About APEX Voice Communications OmniVox3D is a registered trademark of APEX Voice Communications, Inc.
