APEX VOICE COMMUNICATIONS ANNOUNCES NEXT GENERATION OF OMNIVOX3D® APPLICATION SERVER- Multi-Purpose Application Server Designs, Develops and
Delivers Services - WOODLAND HILLS, CA, August 23, 2006 - APEX Voice Communications, a worldwide
supplier of Application Servers and Multi-Service Platforms to carriers, service
providers, enterprises and developers, today announced the general availability
of the next generation of its OmniVox3D Application Server with a VXML Dialog
Generator. As the leading platform for Designing, Developing and Deploying
enhanced services, unified messaging solutions, real-time billing solutions, and
value-added IP multimedia services, OmniVox3D can now be a configured as a
standalone product working with third-party media gateways, or as an integrated
component of the APEX Multi-Service Platform (APEX MSP™) (see diagram). Key
technological advantages of OmniVox3D include a browser-based service
creation/OAM&P environment (OmniView®), and telephony protocol independence,
based on its distributed architecture, allowing seamless application-sharing
between wireline and wireless networks. Built around web technologies, including XML and PHP, the OmniVox3D Application
Server is ideal for high volume services. Its robust service execution
environment along with its modular design, allow it to easily integrate into
Next Generation, PSTN or wireless intelligent networks as a core element.
Either a standalone server or distributed across multiple platforms, OmniVox3D's
open architecture allows it to seamlessly integrate with third-party components
such as IMS-compliant softswitches, media servers, media gateways, VXML gateways
and SIP proxy servers. In a SIP-based network, OmniVox3D off-loads media processing functions in SIP-
compliant networks and supports a variety of SIP-compliant components.
OmniVox3D can be deployed as a standalone IP-based application server solution
or in conjunction with OmniVoXML™, as part of the APEX Multi Service Platform,
serving applications such as Messaging, Prepaid, Conferencing and IVR. "To create a successful services portfolio requires a (service) delivery
platform that is remarkably flexible and can offer carrier-class performance and
reliability," said Elhum Vahdat, executive vice president of APEX Voice
Communications. "And now with the VXML Dialog Generator, our customers can also
run the same applications on their existing third-party media gateways and
create new applications more rapidly using OmniView, instead of low level
programming." The OmniVox3D Application Server, along with the OmniView Service Creation/OAM&P
Environment and the OmniVoXML Media Gateway make up the three core components of
the APEX Multi-Service Platform (see diagram below). OmniView, integrated into
OmniVox3D, provides for the web-based graphical user environment to Design,
Develop and Deploy applications, while OmniVoXML delivers voice and speech-
enabled media for VoIP, ISDN or SS7 networks. In addition to OmniVoXML,
OmniVox3D can work with any third-party VXML 2.0 compatible gateway.
